Judging from past Oblivion videos, it will not be hosted on Bethsoft servers alone, and will be mirrored. Though there may very well be a systems lag due to the immediate demand. I'll admit a trifle of surprise at the magnitude of the populace congregating here even though we all know the video is a minimum of 3 hours away - the time Bethsoft employees roll into their little den. Though I'd think there's still some work to be done posting it online and getting all the URLs pointing properly, so I'd warrant it's a good 5 hours from now. Sleepytime!

Well a countdown usually denotes that something is going to happen at the end of it.
In this case a bunch of people on this forum whining that it wasn't up the second the count finished.
Actually, thinking about it, it may have been better practice for bethsoft to add a couple of days to the countdown and then release the teaser randomly... people would be like "good ol bethsoft - they released it early"

Yeah, that seemed a fair guess when I thought of it but I don't know enough history to risk embarrassing myself (or offending others) by saying it. In Japan the apocalypse in the form of a sudden, cataclysmic event (and subsequent rebuilding of society) remains a popular trope in their fiction, and it's quite obvious why. It's almost a genre there.
What I wanted to say by mentioning it was more to ask about its appeal to myself and all my other fellow never-lived-through-social-upheaval-or-war-or-traumatic-regime-change Fallout fans.

The counter was counting days, not hours. Anyway, it's five am on the East Coast right now. My guess is the trailer will arrive between eight and ten am EST.

cheers for that info, seeing bethesda is american I do indeed not expect it to be up till morning then
